Topic: “Building a Community of Mindful Self-coaching and Wellness” — From “being coached” to “self-coach” to “coach others”
In the past eighteen years, Dr Chou Wah Shan has developed a new model for building sustainable, mindful self-coaching community. This model has been applied in 60 different courses, each for a period of about 30-60 hours. Participants come from all walks of life, including ex-offenders, ex-addicts, social workers, teachers, business executives and the general public. The courses may be taken online or in actual classroom format, yielding outstanding results, including obvious improvement in mental wellness, self-esteem, family relationship, self-coaching ability, as well as encouraging decrease in depression symptoms, suicidal thoughts or anti-social behavior.
In this presentation, Dr Chou will share the credentials of this three-stage development from “being coached” to “self-coach” to “coach others”, emphasizing the Mindfulness practice in four crucial elements including effective self-coaching tools, experiential learning, coaching support, and WhatsApp support.
